As the holidays descend upon your home, and tiny little tots bring their tiny little toys into already-bursting toy chests and grandmas tote smocked dresses into overflowing closets, think spring: Kids Layne is a comin’. Richmond, VA’s Consignment sale of upscale items on February 6, 2009, details: Richmond mom blog.

This Richmond, VA Mom was hypnotized. . .part two

hypnotizedIt’s been over a month now since I underwent hypnosis for what I affectionately dub “serial snacking.” Deborah Smith of Advanced Therapies in Hypnosis did her job well: I was completely under, then after my session was sent away with my session on CD to listen to as “homework.” Admittedly I’m not a star pupil.

For us moms whose kids barely get their homework complete, I was cautiously optimistic about being able to find the time to listen to the CD at night.

Four days later, I was laid off from my project management position at LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc, as part of a massive layoff in Richmond. Our routine family life turned upside-down into one of scrambling for medical insurance, editing resumes, and pinching pennies. All other projects immediately fell to the back burner! (For a much-needed laugh about this, visit: The Richmond Mom Blog)

Luckily her session offered something else. Deborah showed me an incredible tool to use called the “tapping technique” in which, on a daily basis, simple hand movements can help stave off cravings (not just food). It may sound hokey, but it actually works. And, it’s a more realistic for a busy mom who tends to fall asleep putting her kids to bed at night. Glad Deborah had more than one tool in her hypnosis toolbox!

After reading Deborah’s testimonials it’s compelling: for busy Richmond moms who have that one nagging habit they want to change, there’s an option. Questions? Check out www.mindingyourlife.com. As Deborah says, “Your mind has no boundaries.”
